In January, Doug and I took an impromptu trip to
Dead Horse Point State Park, ~120 miles and a 2 hour drive from Grand Junction.

View of the Colorado River from Dead Horse Point. You can see the White Rim Trail, a 103 mile ride jeep trail that you can bike ride over one to three days. I'd like to ride it; unfortunately, you must reserve a permit about a year in advance and the weather is unpredictable. It could be really hot and dry which make for sandy riding, or there could be thunderous rainstorms that make the trails slick and muddy. |

We kept Tigger on a short leash because it's a 2000 ft drop down the canyon to the Colorado River. |
